1. Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs the use of all SpectraHost services, including web hosting, VPS, domain registration, and related products. By using our services, you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
2. Prohibited Content
You may not use SpectraHost services to host, store, or distribute:
- Illegal content — Any material that violates local, state, national, or international law
- Malware and exploits — Viruses, trojans, worms, ransomware, exploit kits, phishing pages, or any software designed to damage or gain unauthorized access to systems
- Copyright-infringing material — Pirated software, movies, music, or other copyrighted content distributed without authorization
- Child exploitation material — Any content depicting the sexual exploitation of minors (reported to NCMEC and law enforcement immediately)
- Hate speech and harassment — Content that promotes violence, discrimination, or harassment against individuals or groups
- Fraudulent content — Phishing sites, scam pages, counterfeit goods, or deceptive schemes
3. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
Spam and Unsolicited Communications
- Sending bulk unsolicited email (spam) from our servers
- Using our services to operate mailing lists without proper opt-in consent
- Sending messages that violate the CAN-SPAM Act or similar legislation
- Hosting content advertised through spam sent from other providers
Network Abuse
- Launching or facilitating denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks
- Port scanning or network probing of third-party systems
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any system, network, or account
- Intercepting or monitoring network traffic without authorization
- Operating open proxies, open relays, or TOR exit nodes
Resource Abuse
- Running processes that consume excessive CPU, memory, or I/O resources on shared hosting
- Cryptocurrency mining on any hosting plan
- Using shared hosting accounts as file storage, backup, or archive repositories
- Running background daemons or cron jobs that degrade server performance for other customers
4. Email Policy
All email sent through our services must comply with the following:
- Recipients must have opted in to receive communications
- Messages must include a valid unsubscribe mechanism
- Sender information must be accurate and not forged
- Mailing list sizes must be reasonable for your hosting plan
Accounts found sending spam will be suspended immediately without prior notice.
5. Security
You are responsible for the security of your account and hosted content:
- Keep all software (CMS, plugins, themes) updated to the latest stable versions
- Use strong, unique passwords for all accounts
- Do not share account credentials with unauthorized parties
- Report any security vulnerabilities to our team promptly
If your account is compromised and used for malicious activity, we may suspend it to protect other customers and our network.
6. Intellectual Property
You must have the legal right to use all content hosted on our servers. This includes but is not limited to:
- Website code, images, and media files
- Software, scripts, and applications
- Trademarks, logos, and brand assets

7. Enforcement
SpectraHost reserves the right to take the following actions in response to AUP violations:
- Warning — For minor or first-time violations, we may issue a written warning with a deadline to resolve the issue
- Suspension — Your account or specific services may be suspended until the violation is resolved
- Termination — Severe or repeated violations may result in immediate account termination without refund
- Law enforcement referral — Illegal activity will be reported to the appropriate authorities
We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before taking enforcement action, except where the violation poses an immediate risk to our network, other customers, or the public.
8. Reporting Violations
If you believe a SpectraHost customer is violating this policy, please report it to:

Please include as much detail as possible, including URLs, timestamps, and evidence of the violation.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
